This Thing, it’s back to normal, working later in the evening. This one uses a technique I’m pretty accustomed to, creating a snippet of music and then layering other things on top of it. This one builds a little more, and is a little longer.
Today’s Thing is pretty electronic, and a little harsh. I think I may have been in a hurry when creating this one. I had just gotten home from work. I’m home alone for most of the evening today, which is odd, so I wanted to take advantage of the time. Usually when I write, it’s between the hours of 9pm and 11pm, though occasionally I’ll get up at 5am and get something done.
Today I posted on Facebook, “Today it occurred to me that maybe it isn’t easy just to make melodies appear out of thin air. That maybe I do have some sort of skill. ”
Thinking beyond that, I’ve decided to embark on a creative endeavor I’m calling One Thing A Day. I’m going to post, each day, something I’ve created, on my SoundCloud account. I’ll update here with the latest.
Here’s my first post. Please feel free to title it, critique it, or just enjoy.
The 10:55 has come to an end. My goal is to bring further life to the songs I’ve used in and written for the service, in a form that can reach a wider audience than just the small, dedicated group of folks that attended the service.
Please consider supporting or sharing this project. Thank you!
